Not huge if you're established, but a bitch to do if you're trying to set up on a hostile server (pipes are so easy to destroy). Meat is easy, oil is easy, but jerky is slow and dumb.Īlso have to maintain and grow crops. It's automatically hours and hours built into the time. Jerky is dumb to create, taking so long for each one. ![]() Have to literally have someone sitting there watching to get them and that's just as bad as taming something, just as boring, and nothing anyone will do (because it's not fun to stand around waiting for birds to shit out eggs). We've got 18 birds right now, been collecting eggs for days, barely got 15 of them. So 50+ argentavis eggs, 50+ hours of making prime meat jerky, and only two hours of standing around doing nothing but checking an inventory. If you're on PVE, you're basically all set to go get all the stuff for kibble and get that perfect tame! Other than that, you would just need to prepare, once that's done, you're all set to find that rare 120 dino and get it tamed in less than 2 hours. The main downside would be getting the required materials and not getting raided while doing so (if you're on PVP). Well, the Devs already answered and the result is: Kibble!! Notice that the longest tame time is a level 120 Spino at just under 2 hours and also requires the most narcotics as well at 446! Plus, these times are ALL AT MAX LEVEL, anything else under 120 will take even less time!! Who doesn't have 2 hours to play this game?! So if you don't have 5+ hours to spend on a time after work or during the weekends, kibble is the way to go. We've all seen so many posts complaining about taming time and the it should be this way or do it like this. These are all based on the max level dino you can find in the wild (on official servers), so the amount of kibble, narcotics, and time needed will obviously go down for lower level dinos. Just some of my thoughts: Kibble is clearly the way to tame. I think that's all the dinos that like kibble as of today (August 4, 2015). If You're unfamiliar with kibble and the recipes, you can find all that information here.Īll Dino's are calculated for level 120!! I did not include dinos that do not have a favorite kibble (Dilos, Dodos, Parasaurs, Phiomias, and Pulminoscorpius)įormat: Dino: # of Kibble and Type/# of Narcotics (Estimated Time to Tame=Hours:Minutes:Seconds) I personally want to find and tame a level 120 Argent so I figured I'd get the rest of the dinos and share it with you all! Have any other questions about how to use the new kibble system, or need help with some other part of the game? Leave us a comment below, or check out the rest of our extensive Ark guide collection here.Hey guys! I was bored at work and was trying out the taming calculator that's found here, since it's been updated to get more accurate information with kibble. Not sure if you've got the right egg size or where to harvest specific sizes of eggs from different creatures? Here's a handy chart showing what type of dino offers which egg type so you can make all the kibble you need: Extra Small Egg Note that the water skin must be at least 25% full, but if you are using water irrigation connected to an industrial cooker, you can skip this ingredient entirely. While the revamped Ark kibble recipes vary, they all include fiber x5 and a water skin. To craft kibble just combine the ingredients in a lit cooking pot with fuel (or an industrial cooker) and wait - each stack of kibble requires 30 seconds to cook.Įvery kibble type requires a specific kind of egg plus a number of ingredients listed in the chart. Unlike most other objects crafted in Ark, engrams are not required for kibble, which are instead made using the recipes below. Otherwise, here's the specific types to use for drastically increased taming speed: Kibble Type In other words, if you don't have the specific preferred type of kibble available, just use something else to tame a dino. ![]() Using the wrong type of kibble actually has less effectiveness than either using the dino's preferred food or even using straight raw meat, reducing it below the standard 1x taming speed. Here's the thing to keep in mind: any type of kibble can be used for any creature, but they shouldn't be. While the info below is current as of this writing and applies to most players, note that the reworked kibble system hasn't actually been implemented yet on mobile or Switch editions of Ark. Let's dive into which dinos prefer which type, and then take a look at the specific recipes for each variation. The entire system saw a major revamp recently, and now kibble is broken down into these types: Kibble is a sure fire way to quickly tame dinos and get better results, but many players are finding their old kibble recipe no longer work, or that some dinos no longer seem particularly interested in kibble.
